People, Place & Planet: WWF Cymru Prize for Writing on Nature and the Environment

New Welsh Review, in association with WWF Cymru and the CADCentre, is thrilled to announce the New Welsh Writing Awards, which will celebrate the finest non-fiction writing in the new and increasingly popular ‘short’ form. We’re looking for brand new work of between 8,000 and 30,000 words on the theme of nature and the environment. The Awards will be judged by New Welsh Review Editor, Gwen Davies, and the author, naturalist and environmental activist Mark Cocker. The closing date is 1 November 2014. ENTRIES ARE OPEN TO WRITERS RESIDENT IN THE UK AND IRELAND, AND THOSE WORLDWIDE WHO HAVE AN EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND IN WALES.
John is an award-winning author of stories, novels and plays. He is author of THE STANDING DEAD, coming in 2027.
