Imagining a different Thanksgiving tradition

The annual presidential pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkey has to be one of the most curious traditions in this country. It officially dates back to George H.W. Bush, though John F. Kennedy informally pardoned a turkey before then. And there are some who believe that Abraham Lincoln also spared a turkey on behalf of his son Tad.

Today, Trump will officiate the next pardon ceremony and it appears that they are asking people to vote on which of the two turkeys (Gobble or Waddle) should be spared. Normally, both turkeys are spared, but anything goes with this administration, particularly when it comes to injecting a bit of cruelty.

But what if the turkeys were in charge of the country and it was the politicians in need of pardoning? This is the premise of this short video…
